Mills Ranch has pigs! The three newest members of the Mills Ranch are currently living in a portable pen beside our garden. They will be raised to provide pork to our customers in late fall or early winter. Just like all Mills Ranch animals, they are consuming no hormones, steroids, or antibiotics. Pigs are not ruminant animals like cows, so we will be giving them some grain. However, most of their food will be weeds, leftover milk from our milk cow, and vegetables from the garden.

 Farm Day! Thanks to all who joined us for an afternoon of food, friends, and fun. We had two fabulous farm tours, entitled "Sustain vs. Consume" and "The Healthy Meat Equation." In addition, there were several presentations about Mills Ranch and some popular demonstrations: butter making, milking, and roping.  And the roasts and hamburgers and steaks that Mike cooked were delicious! Thanks for joining us; we hope to hear from you again!
